I have yet another wonderful opportunity to hang my work in Downtown Indianapolis! I am now working on 2 large pieces for the 3 Mass condos on Mass Ave. I will be hanging these and some other small ones in the model condo on the 5th floor. I am absolutely ecstatic about this opportunity and am so thankful for the exposure. Meghan Demars is the developer for this amazing place, which also is home to the Indy Dream Home 2009. It is breathtaking--if you have a free night to check it out, I definitely suggest it. The decor and design is just awesome!! Also, right now, proceeds for the Dream Home tours goes towards DII, Dyslexia Institute of Indiana, where I worked the camp this summer. My worlds are colliding! Thanks for your support, and I hope you are able to start seeing my work around Indianapolis. Have a great fall week!

This is a site for custom pet paintings by Allison Kegley. These pet paintings are done in acrylic, and come in a variety of sizes and colors. Allison has been inspired by the dazzling and colorful work of Andy Warhol, and has transformed that inspiration into her own unique expression. Warhol was able to take something so simple and make it come to life in a new way by adding splashes of color to emphasize the simplicity of his subjects. Allison has the same philosophy: Keep it simple, but add color to make it exciting! There is nothing easier on the eye than a simple subject contrasting with a vibrant background that just naturally works together.

Allison can be commissioned for a variety of pets, done in a variety of ways with a variety of options…there are hardly rules here for her work! Each piece is personal, so she does not sell paintings of any dog or breed—they are custom to the pet! Typical paintings include the client sending an electronic file of a clear image of a single pet’s face. Then, Allison will sketch it, enlarge it for the size desired, paint the subject in a black and gray scale, and paint the background with a bright color to contrast with the subject. Common sizes commissioned are 12” x 12” and 20" x 20" both with a 1 ½” thick frame inside of the canvas, leaving very clean edges that are painted as part of the picture.  Costs vary with size, and number of pets per portrait. To receive a quote on a commission, contact her today by filling out the form on the Contact Me page.

Check out the gallery to see a variety of her work. She's always open to new ideas and additions to make your piece even more custom! Other ideas include a polka-dot, paisley, striped, or multi-colored pattern in the background to add to the contrast. Having a fun background or your pet’s name included are a couple of ideas, but don’t be afraid to chat with Allison about anything else you are feeling would be great for your painting.
